Our Canning Street Fit-out was completed to give the Primary Health Tasmania a new space to operate out of. Launceston Head to Health are an expanding service/clinic that needed a bigger and better office fit-out. While Francis + Burne helped our clients with great interior design, our team at GLB Constructions completed the fit-out work of the building to serve their present requirements and continue to adapt to their changing needs.
Hundreds of Tasmanians will get the mental health support and treatment they need, with Launceston Head to Health opening doors to their brand-new Canning Street centre!
Launceston Head to Health is a service for adults in Launceston who are seeking emotional well-being and mental health support. Family and friends of people experiencing mental illness can also seek information and advice through the centre. Supported by funding from Primary Health Tasmania through the Australian Government’s Primary Health Networks program and operated by Stride, the new purpose-built adult mental health centre in the heart of Launceston will serve as the permanent home of the Launceston Head to Health service. This new facility is a type of place where if you feel as if you need help, you can check yourself in.
One in five Australians will be affected by a mental health issue each year and a significantly higher proportion of Tasmanians are living with a long-term mental health condition compared to the rest of the country, according to the latest census data. In Tasmania, that figure is 11.5 per cent, just under 64,000 people. As states and healthcare providers take steps to address this mental health crisis, GLB Constructions is proud to have been a part of this project and bring a different kind of care to the table. Approaching the job with empathy, we helped establish a modern, safe, and high-quality custom-designed facility to give people experiencing mental illness access to immediate treatment in a welcoming, comfortable, and supportive setting.
The old image of a mental health facility is an increasing relic of the past - creating the tranquillity and peace you need to maximise the benefits of a visit to a mental health facility is essential. Based on the input Launceston Head to Health received from an advisory committee consisting of Launceston community members, consumers, and other local stakeholders about how the permanent site should look and feel, the centre was crafted from the ground up ensuring the facilities meet the needs of both the people who check in and the staff looking after them. We completed the fit-out work of the building to serve their present requirements and continue to adapt to their changing needs - we’re thrilled to see how our client as well as the local community react to seeing their ideas finally come to life.
